Know When Your Dashboard Data Goes Stale
Your trading dashboard refreshes its Net Liquidating Value continuously while the market is open. If that live feed stalls (a dropped connection, a sleeping laptop, a flaky network) the number simply stops moving, and until now nothing on the screen told you the value you were reading was minutes old.
Now it does. When the market is open and no fresh data has arrived for more than 30 seconds, a warning appears directly beneath your NLV telling you exactly how long it has been.
How it behaves
The elapsed time counts up every second and rolls over from seconds to minutes to hours, so a brief hiccup reads as "45s ago" while a genuinely dead connection climbs past "12m ago". The moment fresh data arrives the warning disappears on its own. There is nothing to dismiss and nothing to configure.
When it stays quiet
The warning only appears while the dashboard is actually asking for live updates: during market hours, on a tab you are looking at. You will never see it in the evening, over a weekend, or on a tab sitting in the background, because your data is not expected to be moving then. It behaves identically in the browser and in the installed app, on desktop and on mobile.
If you do see it, check your network connection and reload the dashboard. Once data starts flowing again the warning clears itself.
