Tour the Trading Dashboard

Last updated July 17, 2026

The Trading Dashboard is your live view of everything your bots are doing right now: positions, activity, and today's profit and loss.

On your first visit, a Welcome to tradeSteward window introduces the dashboard and points you at the Video Vault and the tradeSteward Discord for live help. You can revisit both any time from the Support menu.

Today's P&L chart

The chart at the top plots your intraday profits and losses alongside a market index for context. You can choose which index it compares against and whether it shows bot profits or whole-account profits in User Preferences, and switch between a combined view or a single account.

Current Bot Positions

This card lists every trade your bots have open, with live pricing, and it is where you step in on a live trade when you want to. Trades that close during the day stay in the table marked Trade Closed so the whole day's results sit in one place; the Hide Closed button filters them out. The card header also carries a Close All Trades button for getting out of everything at once, and Close Multiple Trades when you only want out of some of them. Confirming a Close All additionally offers Pause Bots Until Tomorrow's Open, so nothing re-enters for the rest of the day.

The Current Bot Positions card with two open trades showing stop targets, profit targets, current values, and per-trade action icons
Open trades live in Current Bot Positions, with per-trade actions and a Close All Trades button.

Each trade's row ends in a strip of action icons; hover any of them for its name. Three are record keeping, and they stick around after the trade closes:

  •   View Trade Timeline replays the trade's price history alongside the bot's decision narrative.
  •   View Bot Trade Activity jumps to this trade's entries in the Bot Activity log.
  •   Tag Trade assigns the trade to a strategy or tag for reporting.

The rest manage the position itself, so they only appear while the trade is open:

  •   Close Trade closes the whole position at its current price.
  •   Reduce Trade Size closes part of the quantity and leaves the rest running.
  •   Size Up Trade adds contracts at the same strikes and strategy. It only shows while the trade can still be added to; a trade that has stopped out, legged out, or reached expiration keeps this icon hidden. Add to Trade (Size Up) walks through it, and sizing up is available on every Trader plan.
  •   Disable Monitoring and Mark Trade Closed tells tradeSteward to walk away from the trade while the position stays open at your broker. Read the warning below before using it.
Closing or reducing from the dashboard, including Close All, never fires a market order. tradeSteward submits a limit order at the midpoint of the bid/ask spread and gives it about ten seconds to fill. If it has not filled, the order is cancelled and resubmitted a step closer to the far side of the spread, and that repeats, each pass a little more aggressive, for up to ten attempts over roughly a minute and a half. By the final attempt the price sits just shy of the far side of the spread. In practice most closes fill on the first pass or two; it takes a fast-moving or thin market to push an order down the chain.
Disable Monitoring and Mark Trade Closed is the one action here that does not touch your broker at all. tradeSteward stops managing the trade entirely while the position stays open in your account: no stops, profit targets, or timed exits will fire afterward, and it cannot be undone. Use it only when you intend to manage that position yourself.

Stops and profit targets are edited in their own columns rather than from the icon strip. The pencil beside the stop edits this trade's stop target, a second pencil beside the trailing stop line edits this trade's trailing stop, and the pencil in the profit column changes this trade's profit target. Once you have modified a value, its pencil turns red so hand-edited trades stand out at a glance. A small gears icon next to the stop means the bot's own stop adjustment settings are active on this trade.

Edits made here affect only the open trade. To change how all future trades behave, edit the bot itself from the View Bots page.

As pieces of a trade close during the day, small status icons appear beside the position symbols. Hover one to see exactly what happened and when: a profit target fill, a stop, a timed exit, a reduction, a trailing stop, or a close made outside tradeSteward. Once the whole trade closes, the management icons drop away and only the timeline, activity, and tag icons remain, since there is nothing left to manage.

Just below the table sits an   Open Position Analyzer link that opens the Position Analyzer, a risk graph of your open bot positions. On a desktop-sized screen the analyzer opens in a window right over the dashboard, so you can study it and get straight back to your positions; on a phone or other small screen it opens as its own page instead.

Recent Bot Activity

A running feed of what your bots have done lately: entries, exits, stops, and skipped entries with the reason. For the full history, open Bot Activity from the Bots menu, covered in Monitor Bot Activity and Open Positions.

The Recent Bot Activity card listing a new trade entered, a profit target order submitted, and a profit target filled, each with pause, activity, and edit icons
Each activity line carries its own shortcuts: pause the bot, open its full activity log, or jump into its settings.

Enabled Autotrader Bots

Below the activity feed, the Enabled Autotrader Bots card counts your enabled bots and groups them by what they are up to: in a trade right now, scheduled to enter later today, or waiting on a webhook or manual trigger. Bots sitting out today because of an event day or holiday rule say so, with the reason one hover away. Each bot's row carries shortcuts to disable the bot or jump straight to its activity log, settings, and performance.

The row's Launch Now icon opens Launch Bot Trade Now, which fires a one-off trade for that bot immediately, outside its normal entry window, using the bot's configured position. If the bot has Set Launch Now/Webhook Size enabled you can choose Use Bot Settings or Manual Quantity; otherwise, just enter the number of contracts to launch.

Pausing autotrading

The Bots menu in the navigation bar shows your autotrading status with a colored indicator: Bots Enabled, Bots Paused, or Bots Halted. Use Pause Autotrading to stop all bots from opening new trades, and Enable Autotrading to resume. Pausing does not close positions that are already open; existing trades continue to be managed to their exits.

Make it yours

You can tailor the dashboard in User Preferences: pick which cards appear, set your default homepage, display extras like buying power and volatility index values, and turn on Privacy Mode to hide dollar amounts when you are sharing your screen.
