Bidless Long Credit Recovery

Last updated July 17, 2026

Bidless Long Credit Recovery shows how much residual credit your bots have collected by selling long options that were left without a bid at exit time.

What is a bidless long?

Defined-risk trades usually include cheap long legs that hedge the short side. By the time the trade closes, those long legs are often quoted with a bid of 0.00, so including them in the closing order would only make the close harder to fill. tradeSteward excludes bidless longs from closing orders, which leaves them sitting in your account.

Those leftover contracts are not always worthless. When the Sell Bidless Longs After Exit setting is enabled on a bot, tradeSteward sends a market sell to close order for the bidless long legs after the trade's closing order fills. Whatever those sales collect is pure recovered credit, and this page is where you see it add up. The setting itself lives in the Trading Strategy section of the bot form; see Bot Settings: Trading Strategy.

Open Bidless Long Credit Recovery from the Tracking menu, under Bots, or go to /trading/bots/bidlesslongs. At the top of the page:

  • Search By Account selects one or more of your enabled accounts.
  • Search by Date sets the date range. The page defaults to roughly the last 90 days.
  • Search refreshes the chart and table for your selection.

If nothing was sold in the window you picked, the page tells you no bidless long sales data is available for the period.

Read the chart

The chart plots each account's daily Bidless Long Sales as bars, with three cumulative lines running across the period:

  • Cumulative Bidless Long Sales: total credit recovered so far.
  • Cumulative Net Bidless Long Sales: the same total after commissions and fees.
  • Cumulative Commissions: what the recovery sales cost to execute.

The gap between the gross and net lines tells you whether the recoveries are comfortably clearing their own costs.

The Bidless Long Sales Detail table

Below the chart, the Bidless Long Sales Detail table lists each trading day with Day Sales, Day Commissions, and Day Net Sales, alongside running Cumulative Sales, Cumulative Commissions, and Cumulative Net Sales columns. The newest days sort to the top, and weekends are omitted.

Recovered credit here is money the closing order left behind, so even small daily amounts compound meaningfully for bots that trade every day. If the numbers stay at zero, check whether Sell Bidless Longs After Exit is enabled on the bots that carry cheap long wings.
