User Preferences and Privacy Mode

Last updated July 17, 2026

The User Preferences and Bot Preferences cards in Account Settings let you shape the dashboard, protect your privacy on screen, and tune a few global bot behaviors.

Everything below lives in Account Settings. Changes save as soon as you flip a switch or pick an option.

Default homepage

Default Homepage decides where you land after login: the Trading Dashboard or the Backtick Dashboard. Pick whichever you open first each morning.

Privacy Mode

Privacy Mode hides account values and your name, which is handy when you are streaming, screen-sharing, or trading in public. You can toggle it on the spot from the account menu (the user icon in the top bar), and the Default to Privacy Mode On preference makes every session start private.

Main dashboard cards

The Main Dashboard Settings switches control what the Trading Dashboard shows, including:

  • Hide Closed Trades on Bots Table
  • Show Today's Bot Trade Profit Card and Show All Bot Trades Profit Card
  • Show Strategy Profits on Profit Cards
  • Show Intraday Chart and Show Trade Counts Card
  • Show Recent Bot Activity, with a selectable number of entries

Intraday chart settings

When the intraday chart is on, you choose what plots alongside your account: Buying Power, VIX, VIX9D, VIX1D, an index chart, and markers for your trades. Delay Chart Start Until 9:31am skips the first noisy minute of the session, and Use All-Account P&L Instead of Bot-Only P/L switches the chart between everything in the account and just bot trades.

Chart Comparison Index picks the benchmark for the index chart, with choices like SPX, SPY, NDX, QQQ, RUT, and IWM. The list depends on which brokers you have linked. This same index powers the Account vs Market Performance report.

Bot preferences

The Bot Preferences card holds a few account-wide bot behaviors:

  • Percent Sizing Uses Minimum Quantity of 1 and Leverage Sizing Uses Minimum Quantity of 1: open at least one contract even when the sizing math rounds to zero.
  • Wide Spread Patience Window: when a strike shows an abnormally wide bid-ask spread, tradeSteward pauses management and stops for open trades until normal quotes return or your window (1 to 3 minutes, or Until Normal Quotes) expires.
  • Profit Target Trigger: submit profit-target orders immediately, or only once a trade is a chosen percentage of the way to its target, which conserves orders and buying power.
  • Enable Bot Webhook Controls: turns on webhook remote control and manages its token.
Why delay profit-target orders with Profit Target Trigger? Every resting order ties up buying power and adds to your order counts. Submitting the target only once a trade is most of the way there keeps both free while the trade is young; see 390 Order Count Monitoring for why order counts can matter.
