Bulk Edit Bots

When one bot becomes twenty, you need tools that change settings across all of them at once. Bulk Edit Bots updates settings in bulk, and the View Bots bulk bar handles quick quantity changes.

Edit many bots in one pass

Open the Bots menu and choose Bulk Edit Bots in the Create & Edit group, or select bots on the View Bots page and click Edit Selected. The page shows the bots you are editing under Bots Selected to Edit, followed by the familiar bot settings form.

The form works on a simple rule: anything you leave alone stays as each bot had it, and anything you change is applied to every selected bot. That makes it safe to, say, move the entry window or tighten the stop across a dozen bots without touching their symbols, quantities, or strategies.

Entries of a Multi-Entry bot are not offered here: they do not appear in either bot picker, and the strategy-based pickers only pull in standalone bots and Multi-Entry bots, never their individual entries. Edit an entry's own settings from its Multi-Entry bot instead.

Read the robot icons before you change anything

In multi-edit mode, small robot icons appear next to the form fields and tell you how the selected bots currently compare:

  • A green robot means every selected bot already has the same value for that setting. Its tooltip reads "All bots are configured the same for" that setting.
  • A yellow robot means the selected bots differ on that setting. Hover it to see the differing values. Fields that differ show a Multiple Bots placeholder, and leaving them untouched preserves each bot's own value.
  • A red robot marks settings that cannot be bulk-edited at all. Bot name, trading account, underlying symbol, notes, and dependencies stay per-bot; edit those on the individual bot.

The Single or Multi-Entry toggle uses this same yellow-robot warning when your selection mixes Single-Entry and Multi-Entry bots: both toggle buttons take on a warning outline instead of the placeholder text other fields use, and hovering the robot icon lists which of your selected bots are Single Entry and which are Multi-Entry.

A quick scan of the icons tells you whether the bots are as similar as you think before you push one value onto all of them.

  Bots that enter When Triggered take their quantity from whatever triggers them, so a bulk quantity change does not apply to those bots. Edit their settings individually instead.

Quick quantity changes

If all you need is a new size, you do not need the full editor. On the View Bots page, select your bots and click Change Quantity in the bulk action bar to update position size across the selection in one dialog.

If your goal is not to edit similar bots but to merge them, that is a different tool: Consolidate to Multi-Entry combines standalone bots into one Multi-Entry bot with a single shared configuration and one entry per bot. See Multi-Entry Bots: Entries, Consolidation, and Archiving.

Once you have bots selected on this page, a Consolidate button (people-and-gear icon) appears next to Create New and opens the same wizard pre-loaded with your selection, so you do not have to re-pick the bots.

Review after any bulk change

After a bulk edit, give the affected bots a quick once-over on the View Bots page. The Leg Specs, Quantity, Entry, and Exit columns summarize each bot's live configuration, and View Bot Settings History in the Actions column shows exactly what changed and when.
