What Is tradeSteward?
tradeSteward is your one-stop service for automated options trading, backtesting, and trade strategy performance tracking. Built by traders, for traders.
Automated trading with bots
At the heart of tradeSteward are bots: rules you define once that then trade for you. A bot knows what to trade, when to enter, how large to size the position, when to take profit, and when to cut a loss. Once you enable a bot, it watches the market during your chosen entry window, places the trade at your broker, and manages it through exit without you touching a thing.
Bots can trade single options, vertical spreads, condors, and fully custom multi-leg positions. You control every detail, from strike selection by delta or premium to entry timing, profit targets, stop losses, and trailing stops. Entry filters can gate trades on market conditions like intraday moves, moving averages, or the VIX, and a stopped trade can even launch a follow-up trade automatically. When you would rather stay hands-on, you can also launch one-off trades manually and let tradeSteward handle the management.
As your fleet grows, the management tools grow with it: Multi-Entry bots run one strategy at many entry times under a single set of settings, Bot Portfolios switch groups of bots on and off together, bulk editing changes many bots in one pass, and webhooks let outside systems like alert services open and close trades remotely.
Backtesting with Backtick
Before you put real money behind an idea, test it. Backtick is tradeSteward's built-in options backtesting engine. Recreate a strategy against years of market history, review the results with metrics like win rate, drawdown, and profit factor, and compare variations side by side. When a backtest earns your confidence, you can convert it directly into a live bot. Start with What Is Backtick? to learn more.
Backtick goes well beyond single tests: SweepTick sweeps one or two settings across whole ranges of values to show how sensitive results are, portfolio backtests combine your best positions into one test to study how they behave together, and live-versus-backtest comparisons tell you whether a running bot is actually tracking its test. You can also share results with a read-only link.
Performance tracking
tradeSteward automatically captures every trade in your linked accounts, whether a bot placed it or you did. Your trade log, balance history, monthly calendar, and per-bot and per-strategy reports stay current without manual entry. You can group trades into your own strategies, journal notes on individual fills, and benchmark your account against the market.
Supported brokers
tradeSteward connects directly to your existing brokerage account. Four brokers are supported:
- Charles Schwab
- tastytrade
- Tradier
- TradeStation
Trades are placed in your own account at your broker. Your money never moves to tradeSteward, and tradeSteward never sees your broker password: connections are authorized on your broker's own site. See Link a Brokerage Account for how connections work.
Community and sharing
tradeSteward is also social where you want it to be. Share a bot configuration with another user by link, join a trading group to browse bots its members share, or share read-only backtest results with anyone. The tradeSteward Discord connects you with other users and the support team, and the Video Vault pairs video walkthroughs with this knowledge base.
