Organize Bots and Backticks with Tags

Last updated July 17, 2026

Tags are flexible labels you can apply to bots, Backticks, positions, and trades. Where strategies group trades for profit and loss reporting, tags are free-form: use them for anything from "Earnings" to "Experimental".

The Tags page

Open the Tracking menu, then Manage Tags under Strategies, in the navigation. The Tags page lists every tag on your account with its icon, name, description, usage count, and creation date, plus actions to edit or delete each one. A search box filters the list as your tag collection grows.

Create a tag

Click Create Tag and fill in the details:

  • Tag Name: up to 30 characters, unique on your account.
  • Tag Icon and Color: pick an icon and a color so the tag is easy to spot at a glance. A live preview shows how it will look.
  • Description: optional, up to 255 characters, handy for remembering what the tag is for.
The Create Tag window with name, icon, color, live preview, and description fields
The live preview shows exactly how the tag will look before you create it.
Pick a distinct color per kind of tag, for example warm colors for live experiments and cool colors for long-term projects. You will scan tag chips far more often than you read tag names.

Find anything by tag

The lookup card at the top of the Tags page searches your whole account by tag. Choose one or more tags in Select Tags, set the Item Type to All or narrow it to Backticks, Bots, Bot Trades, Positions, or Trades, and click Find Items. The results link straight to each tagged item, which makes tags a fast way to pull up everything connected to one project regardless of where it lives.

Where tags show up around the app

  • Bots: the View Bots page filters your bot list by tags, and its bulk bar has a Tag Selected action that tags every selected bot in one step.
  • Backticks: add tags in the Name and Tags card when you create a Backtick, then filter the Backtick Library and Position Library by those tags.
  • Trades and reports: tagged items display their tags where they appear, and the Trade Log search panel can filter by bot tags, so a tag you put on a group of bots follows through to their trade history.

Edit and delete tags

Use the pencil action to rename a tag or change its icon, color, or description. Changes apply everywhere the tag is used. Deleting a tag removes it from every item where it has been applied, so double-check the usage count before deleting.

Deleting a tag cannot be undone. If a tag has outlived its purpose but you want the history, consider renaming it instead.
