Bot Portfolio Net Delta

Last updated July 4, 2026

Portfolio Net Delta Analysis totals the current net delta of your open bot positions, so you can see how directional your book is right now.

Open Bot Portfolio Net Delta from the Bots menu, or go to /trading/bots/portdelta. Delta measures how much an option's price moves when the underlying moves one point, so the sum across your open positions is a quick read on your overall directional exposure: a positive net delta gains when the underlying rises, a negative one gains when it falls, and a number near zero means your open positions are roughly market-neutral.

Run an analysis

Pick what to include, then click Analyze Delta:

  • Select Strategies: choose All Enabled Strategies or one or more specific strategies. At least one selection is required; the analysis covers the open trades of the bots assigned to those strategies.
  • Select Accounts: All Accounts (the default) covers every enabled account, or narrow the analysis to specific accounts. Choosing a specific account replaces the All Accounts selection automatically.

If nothing is open for that combination, the page tells you no open positions were found for the selected strategies and accounts.

Read the results

The headline Current Net Delta is the sum of every open position's delta multiplied by its signed quantity, per 100-share contract. Long positions add their delta, short positions subtract it, and expired contracts are excluded.

A put credit spread book: the short puts contribute positive delta, the long hedge negative, netting to the headline number.

Below the headline, each open position gets a row:

ColumnWhat it shows
DescriptionThe contract: symbol, expiration, strike, and put or call.
Opened Qty / Current QtyThe position size, negative for short positions.
Bot Avg PriceThe average price your bots opened the position at.
Current PriceThe current mark for the contract.
Open Profit (Loss)The unrealized profit or loss on the position.
Position Net DeltaThat position's contribution to the headline number.

Ways to use it

Check net delta before adding a directional bot to see whether it stacks onto exposure you already have, or after a partial stop to see what the surviving legs left you holding. If a strategy is supposed to stay delta-neutral, an analysis filtered to just that strategy shows how far it has drifted. To manage which bots are on in the first place, group them with Bot Portfolios, and see Monitor Bot Activity and Open Positions for the position views this analysis draws from.

Net delta is a snapshot, not a setting: every option's delta drifts as the underlying moves and expiration approaches. Re-run the analysis after a big market move rather than trusting a number from this morning.
