Join or Create a Trading Group

Last updated July 17, 2026

Trading groups connect you with other tradeSteward users so you can share bot configurations and collaborate on trading strategies.

What a group gives you

Joining a group unlocks the Group Shared Bots page, where members publish bot configurations for each other to browse and copy. Clone, Share, and Import Bots covers how to copy a shared bot into your own account and how to share your own.

Groups also give you a shared identity inside tradeSteward: the group's name and logo appear in your navigation bar, and you choose a Group Display Name that other members see. Some groups go further and manage their members' subscriptions and billing directly; if you join one of those, your plan is arranged through the group rather than through your own checkout.

Join a group with an invite code

Group membership is by invitation. To join:

  1. Get an invite code from the group's administrator.
  2. Open Account Settings and find the Trading Group card. If you are not in a group yet it reads "You are not currently a member of a trading group." Click Join now!
  3. Enter your code in the Invite Code field and click Validate Invite Code.
  4. If you have not set one yet, you will be asked for a Group Display Name before joining. This is the name other group members will see when you share group bots and in other group features.

If you see Invite Code Not Found, the code may have expired or may already have been used, since some invite codes are single use. Double-check the code and contact the group administrator for a fresh one if it still fails.

Your Group Display Name

Once you are a member, the Trading Group card shows which group you belong to along with your Group Display Name. You can change the display name at any time and click Update. Pick something you are comfortable showing to every member of the group, because it labels the bots you share.

Create your own group

You can also start a group of your own. In the Trading Group card, click Create your own group now! and fill in:

  • Group Name: 3 to 50 characters, required.
  • Group Logo: optional image up to 2MB, shown in the navigation bar and on the Group Shared Bots page.

When the group is created you become its group administrator, which adds a Manage Group button to your Trading Group card and a Group Administration entry to your account menu (the user icon in the top bar). Run a Trading Group walks through everything on the administration side, including generating the invite codes that bring your members in.

Leave a group

To leave, click Leave Group in the Trading Group card and confirm.

Leaving is not something you can undo on your own. The only way back into a group is to be re-invited, so make sure you have a current invite code source before you go.

If your subscription is managed by your group, the Leave Group option is not shown, because your billing runs through the group. Talk to your group administrator about changes in that case; Manage or Cancel Your Subscription explains how group-managed billing appears in your account.
