Share Backtick Results

Share a Backtick's results with anyone through a read-only link. Viewers see the strategy's performance without needing a tradeSteward account, and your personal account details stay private.

Turn on sharing

Every completed run carries a share icon on its row: find it under Recent Backticks on the Backtick Dashboard or in the Backtick Library. On a run that is not yet shared, the icon reads Share Backtick; use it to turn sharing on and get the run's read-only link. Copy the link and send it anywhere: chat, email, or a forum post.

  Why a link instead of an account invite: the recipient needs nothing but the URL. No tradeSteward login, no setup, which makes it the fastest way to talk through a result with someone.

What viewers see

Anyone with the link gets a read-only view of the results: the performance metrics, charts, and position statistics. They cannot edit your Backtick, rerun it, or reach any other part of your account. Identifying details of your real accounts are not part of a shared view, so sharing a strong result does not mean sharing your financial life. Your tags are never part of a shared view, and your journaling notes stay private as well unless you chose to include them when turning on sharing.

That notes choice is a checkbox in the sharing window itself, labeled Include my notes in the shared view. It appears when you first turn sharing on and again whenever you reopen Manage Sharing, and it starts unchecked, so notes stay private unless you opt in. You can change it while sharing is active too: the existing link picks up the new setting right away, with no need to stop sharing or create a new link.

One thing a viewer can do, if they have an active Backtick subscription of their own: import a copy of the shared Backtick into their account to study and build on. The copy is theirs and changes nothing on your side, and Premium-only extras such as signal data are only included when the recipient is a Premium subscriber. See Copy, Rerun, and Import Backticks.

  The link itself is the access. Anyone who has it can view the shared results, so share it as deliberately as you would the numbers themselves.

Turn sharing off

Sharing is reversible. On a run that is already shared, the same row icon reads Manage Sharing; use it to turn sharing off. The link stops working for everyone who has it, and you can share again later, whenever you choose.

Share links are also tied to your own subscription: if your Backtick subscription ends, every link you have shared stops working, and they start working again if you resubscribe.
